Ours starts on construction sites, runs through an office full of marketing plans and spreadsheets, and lands in Queen Creek, where Randy and Tori Henderson built a family business around hands-on skill, safety and doing the job right. Here’s how each of us found our way into the trade.
How did Randy get started?
Randy’s journey began young, on construction sites. Starting at 16, he worked on everything from investor remodels to tenant improvements for healthcare facilities, learning residential and commercial construction from the ground up and developing a sharp eye for detail.
His time at Ion Electric sparked a passion for the electrical trade, and it became his calling. Today Randy is our licensed electrician (ROC CR-11 #341452), and he’s responsible for the work on every job. He leads by example, making sure everything from a wiring repair to a complex installation is done with precision and integrity. His values of hard work, community and safe electrical work shaped the company from day one.
What does Tori bring to the business?
Tori Henderson is co-owner alongside her husband, Randy, and she’s affectionately known as “the Gatekeeper.” While the crew is in the field, Tori keeps the office running. She brings a background in advertising, marketing, human resources and office management, and she oversees everything from marketing to daily operations, estimates and scheduling. Her planning complements Randy’s hands-on leadership, and it’s a big part of why customers get a smooth experience from the first call to the final inspection.
Where did Mikal learn the trade?
Mikal is Tori and Randy’s son, and he grew up around the trade. Growing up in a construction household meant job sites, tools and plenty of opinions about doing things the right way. Today he brings that upbringing to every job, with careful, clean work that makes homes safer.
How did Justin go from concrete to wiring?
Justin, Tori and Randy’s nephew, started out in construction working with concrete. That demanding work built the grit and determination this trade requires, and the precision of concrete work sharpened his attention to detail, a must in electrical work, where accuracy prevents hazards. His move from concrete to wiring shows his adaptability and eagerness to learn, and that same tenacity shows up on every job.
What ties the team together?
A strong family bond and shared values. Randy’s leadership, Tori’s organization, Mikal’s upbringing in the trade and Justin’s grit add up to a crew that works well together. Our mixed construction backgrounds help us handle a wide range of projects, from repairs and lighting to remodels, new construction and commercial tenant improvements.
